As a psychologist with lived experience as a first responder, I have first-hand awareness of the issues and challenges that can occur when frequently exposed to critical incidents and organisational stressors. Due to my diverse training and experiences, I take a holistic approach to therapy, focusing on mind and body practices to support recovery and improve wellbeing.
I’ve worked as a psychologist since 1998 in public sector and private organisations and have experience with a wide range of psychological issues.
My training and skillset
I started my working life as a Police Officer and a Community Corrections Officer, and then trained as a psychologist. I have a Doctor of Psychology (Forensic), Bachelor of Psychology (Hons), Bachelor of Social Science in Police Studies, and a Graduate Certificate in Human Nutrition. I have general registration with AHPRA, I hold an endorsement as a Forensic Psychologist, and I am a Psychology Board approved supervisor. I am a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc. (AAPi). I am also an Accredited EMDR Practitioner and a qualified Yoga Teacher.
My therapeutic approach
I tailor my approach to the needs and preferences of each client, utilising a range of evidence-based therapies, including:

  • Mindfulness & Body-Based Therapies
  • Skills Training in Affective & Interpersonal Functioning
  • EMDR

My aim is to equip people who work in high stress occupations with practical tools to improve their wellbeing and rebuild their resilience so they can enjoy their careers and life once again.
