As a Clinical Psychologist Registrar, I primarily focus on helping others to build a better understanding of all parts of themselves, such as how they have developed and how those parts interact with themselves, others, and the world. From a place of understanding, we can begin to reshape our past, acknowledge our present, and build toward a future characterised more by adaptation and fulfilment than by struggle or distress.
I have worked in mental health across a range of settings, including hospital, university, private practice, and disability. As a clinician, I welcome all ages and backgrounds including Veterans, First Responders, Health Professionals and the LGBTQI+ community.
My training and skillset
I have a Master of Clinical Psychology, a Master of Professional Psychology, and a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours.
I hold general registration with AHPRA and am currently working toward endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist.
I am a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and a committee member of the APS’ Clinical College for Western Australia.
My therapeutic approach
I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to best suit each client’s individual needs and preferences, including the following evidence-based practices:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Metacognitive Therapy
- Schema Therapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
My client care philosophy
I like to take a person- rather than problem-centered approach, getting to know not only why someone has presented to therapy but also their world, the people in it, and what they value. I believe the best place from which to begin growth in therapy is one where you feel heard, understood, and safe to openly pose any questions or concerns.
