Clients can see our psychologists without a referral, but most are referred through a GP so they can claim a Medicare rebate under the Better Access to Mental Health program, which provides rebates which cover most of the costs for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Psychiatrists are required to have a referral from a GP before an appointment can be made. A standard referral for ongoing care will last 12 months from your first appointment with a psychiatrist. An indefinite referral for a psychiatrist will last 5 years.
